Oysters and a Drink for $8

Monday June 16, 2003
Fish, at 280 Bleecker Street, has a little known great deal -- for just $8 you can get a half-dozen blue point oysters or little neck clams on the half shell with your choice of red or white wine, or a draft beer.

We found this weekend it was a great place to duck in from the rain, but it's equally refreshing on a warm sunny day when you want to take a break from Bleecker Street. They have a beautiful long wooden bar, and we enjoyed watching them shuck the oysters for us. The freshly shucked oysters were served on ice with a delicious ginger cream sauce on the side, as well as vinegar and cocktail sauce. For more details, you can read about Fish here. Bon appetit!
