Threat Level Raised in NYC Financial Areas

Tuesday August 3, 2004
The Department of Homeland Security has raised the terror alert at key financial institutions, including the New York Stock Exchange. Additionally, trucks are being redirected from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and the Williamsburg Bridge to the Manhattan Bridge and from the Holland Tunnel to the Lincoln Tunnel and the George Washington Bridge. There are also road closings near Grand Central Station. While you may notice an increased level of security throughout the city, Operation Atlas exists to protect both residents and tourists in New York City.
