Perhaps New York City's most famous toy store, FAO Schwarz has been a New York institution since Fredrick Otto Schwarz opened his Toy Bazzar in 1870. FAO Schwarz is a great place to buy gifts, but also an interesting store to visit just for browsing. Check out these pictures of FAO Schwarz.
