I have a question, do you have any information regarding dorm-like hostels? Can you recommend anyone in particular?
Also, what would you recommend as better for staying, Upper East Side or Upper West Side?

You might find my list of New York City hostels helpful in your search. Both the Upper East and Upper West Sides offer visitors a chance to experience a taste of residential life in New York City, so either is a good bet, but you might prefer one or the other if any of the museums you’re planning to visit are located there.
