New York City for Movie Lovers

Thursday May 28, 2009
New York City is a very popular setting for films, making it a great destination for movie lovers who want to see the real-life locations featured in a wide variety of movies. Budget Travel Magazine has put together a great article The Cinematic Side of NYC outlining do-it-yourself half-day itineraries for fans of "The Devil Wears Prada," "You've Got Mail," "West Side Story," "The Godfather," and "Working Girl."

If you'd like someone to show you the sites of some movies filmed in New York City, consider checking out On Location's Central Park Movie Sites Walking Tour or New York TV and Movie Sites Bus Tour.

Hi Heather! I love your blog and always refer to it when I need to know where to go in nyc. Just to add to your wonderful list of best pizzerias in nyc, I happened to have stumbled upon this east village pizzeria called, “Veloce Pizzeria”, amazing. I never had pizza like this before, where I can actually finish the crust. They serve up cool square pan sicilian-style pizzas. The food there was delicious, I could swear it was home cookin’, fresh and simple. They also have an all-Italian eclectic wine list. Pizza and good wine at a very reasonable price. Who could ever grow tired of this?

Hey Nicole, we’ve been there! I think they opened a few years ago, don’t quote me on that, but if they recently opened, the pizzeria sure looks like it has been around for a long time. Veloce Pizzeria is great!! Great Italian menu, great service, great wines, great price, great ambiance. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did!
