Free Movies in Bryant Park Begin Tonight

By June 17, 2013

Follow me on:

MAGNUM Ice Cream BarThe annual tradition of Free Movies in Bryant Park begins this evening with a screening of Tootsie. Every Monday evening through August 19, 2013 you can catch classic films on the big screen in Bryant Park for free. It's a great New York City summer tradition (that has been replicated around the city) and a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a picnic dinner, people watching and a great movie.

In case free movies under the stars aren't enough to lure you to Bryant Park, there are also some delicious treats once you arrive. Magnum has put in a seasonal shop where you can design your own Magnum: complete with your choice of milk or dark chocolate coating and up to three toppings. Because I wouldn't want to send you somewhere without being *sure* it was worthwhile, I tried it myself last week (with my lucky son) and I'm happy to report it's as delicious as it sounds. They even have a signature NYC topping of crushed pretzels to jazz up your pop in an only-in-NYC sort of way. Magnum's Pop-up shop is open daily from noon 'til 8 p.m. (7 p.m. on Sunday).

In addition, indie vendors from the Hester Street Fair will be on hand selling delicious eats on Mondays from 4-10 p.m. in Bryant Park. Think Thai food from Khao Man Gai NY, sweets from Handsome Dan's and Ludlow Pizza.
