Guide Review - Angus McIndoe
While sharing a neighborhood with over-priced and underwhelming restaurants in Times Square, Angus McIndoe is worth visiting. The affordable wine list offers many selections under $30, and wine service is informal, meaning we poured it ourselves as the waiter directed. A dozen fresh, briny oysters($16) included both East and West coast varieties. Appetizer highlights included seared blackened tuna($10) and tender, yet crisp fried calamari($9). Chicken with mashed potatoes($17) was surprisingly moist with a slightly spicy marinade. Red curry sauce contrasted the mild monkfish($19)perfectly. Bruleed lemon tartlet($7) had a sharp, refreshing flavor. Oatmeal crisp($8) loaded with blueberries and peaches was delicious and generous enough for two.

It's not just Pub Food! It's much, much more. My wife & I eat here every time we go to a play (about 4 or 5 times a year) and we've always been happy with the food. They have some regular items that we often get but you can't go there without trying their Specials - especailly thier appertizers. As a matter of fact, there have been times when we ordered several appertizers each and made a meal of Apps & wine. There's a nice bar for after a show and they serve a lite dinner until midnight. We generally go before a show and they always make certain you get out in enough time to make your curtain - even on a Tuesday!
