Guide Review - Charles' Southern Style Kitchen: Restaurant Review
Seeking authentic southern cuisine in New York City, we made the voyage to Harlem to find Charles' Southern Style Kitchen, rumored to have the best fried chicken in NYC. While I'm no expert, I can't imagine better fried chicken -- the crisp, flavorful crust crackles, revealing moist, delicious meat and it's surprisingly not greasy. Other buffet selections included corn bread, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, salad, cole slaw, smothered chicken and ribs. The all-you-can-eat buffet ($9.95 weekday lunch/$11.95 dinner and weekends) proves that buffet style cuisine can be delicious. Wash it all down with a sweet tea or lemonade ($1 with unlimited refills). As you can't have just one piece of chicken, I recommend showing up hungry.
