30 Free Things to Do in Manhattan
9 - 15: Nudity, skaters, books and sculptures.

From Marcia A. Baczynski, for About.com

While at Times Square, keep an eye out for the Naked Cowboy while marvelling over what people will do to get on MTV.

Late fall through early spring offers prime viewing of IceCapades wannabes at the Rockefeller Center, but turn around and walk into the GE building for larger than life art in the lobby. Wander downstairs and you might find an art installation or run into someone from NBC.

Read a book at what The New Yorker calls "The most celebrated book shop in New York... important and irreplaceable" or wander through eight miles of books at the Strand.

Figure out how the "sculpture" works in the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
