Admit it -- you love to watch Sex & the City and always wondered about the amazing places that Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda hang out, shop, eat and live in New York City, right? Wouldn't it be great if you could come to New York City and see all the places -- from Scout (the show's popular bar) to Magnolia Bakery (home of delicious cupcakes)?
The Sex & the City tour of New York City highlights many of the top spots in the show. In just three hours on an air-conditioned bus our tour guide, Katie, showed us many of the locations where filming is done for Sex & The City. Stops included Tao where the girls drink and flirt; the Church Around the Corner; Onieal's Speakeasy where scenes from Scout are taped; and the gallery where Charlotte worked. Although we couldn't stop at every filming location, Katie pointed out the New York Sports Club where Miranda works out; the area in the West Village where Sarah Jessica Parker lives with Matthew Broderick; Tiffany's, where Charlotte's engagement ring came from and a number of other places along the way.
Katie donned a bright pink boa (which made finding her easy where the tour meets on 59th Street) and was both friendly and knowledgeable. She shared lots of show- and star-related trivia, including the fact that Matthew Broderick turned down the part of Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties. She also had assorted Sex & The City Souvenirs for sale, including horseshoe necklaces, t-shirts and nipple enhancers. If you're interested in taking the tour on your next visit, it's $42 per person (plus a $2 ticket fee) for the 3-hour tour and it includes a cupcake at Magnolia. You can get 20% off with the New York Pass. You can register for the Sex & The City Tour on Viator.
Please note: The tour no longer stops at Carrie's stoop or Jimmy Choo's.
