As you exit Murray's, get a breath of fresh air and enter Zito's, which is directly next door. Established in 1924, Zito's is famous for its fresh baked Italian bread and the locals know what a great deal can be had here.
The baguette ($1.10) is delicious -- they even have a whole-wheat baguette if you're looking for something a little different. Zito's is also famous for its foccacia bread. If you're looking for a deal on lunch, the pannini here can't be beat. For under $4, there are a number of sandwiches to be had -- mozzarella and proscuitto is my favorite. [pMany local restaurants serve Zito's bread -- their rolls are excellent with burgers or even on their own. Zito's also carries an assortment of pastas, cheeses and other Italian gourmet items that you may need to complete your meal. They don't use preservatives in their bread, so I highly recommend buying the bread as close to when you'd like to use it as possible to ensure the best possible quality.
