The final episode of "Survivor: Marquesas" will air on May 19, 2002 on CBS from 8 - 10 p.m. ET/PT. This has been the fourth season of "Survivor" and to keep things interesting, CBS has brought a new level of difficulty to the show -- contestants in this series were not given food, water or fire. Rosie O'Donnell will be hosting the reunion episode which will air live from Wollman Rink in Central Park following the two hour finale (from 10 - 11 p.m. ET/PT). According to executive producer Mark Burnett, O'Donnell was chosen to host the reunion because "She's a fan of the show, she knows all the players and her infectious enthusiasm will add an unbelievable amount of excitement to the event." Rosie has interviewed each contestant on her talk show as they have been "voted off" the island. Although the show was taped months ago and contestants have been back in the U.S. for about six months, the winner is not yet known -- even to the contestants. The winner will be announced live from Central Park, as a continuation of the final tribal council on the island of Nuku Hiva. All 16 contestants will be in Central Park for the reunion show which will use the tribal council set from Nuku Hiva. It is designed to feature the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop during this open-air event. The venue for the event will hold 1,500 fans, sponsors and former "Survivor" contestants. Tickets are available by invitation only from CBS. During the reunion special, contestants will reflect on their experiences and share stories and secrets that may not have been aired during the show. |
