1. Holiday Train Show at the NYBG

The Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden is an annual holiday tradition. Featuring model trains and over 140 replicas of New York City landmarks, the Holiday Train Show is a wonderful experience for children and adults. The Holiday Train Show is held indoors, making it a wonderful experience no matte what the weather is like outside.

3. The Nutcracker: New York City Ballet

The New York City Ballet continues its annual tradition of performing George Balanchine's "The Nutcracker" at Lincoln Center. Matinees are extremely popular and tickets go quickly. Tickets are $29-220, depending on performance and seats. Performances November 29, 2013 - January 4, 2014.

4. The New York Pops: Under the Mistletoe with Ashley Brown

Enjoy the New York Pops annual holiday celebration at Carnegie Hall with this interdenominational holiday concert featuring traditional favorites and new hits with Ashley Brown.

5. Oratorio Society of New York's Messiah Sing

An annual tradition since 1874, the Oratorio Society's Messiah Sing at Carnegie Hall will take place on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 8 p.m.

6. A Christmas Story: The Musical

This Broadway musical, based on the classic 1983 movie, has been getting great reviews. Limited engagement December 11-29, 2013. Tickets are $63-226 depending on the seats and dates of performance.

7. A Christmas Carol

8. Holiday Events at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine hosts a variety of musical and religious events throughout the month, including Advent services, children's workshops and their Peace Tree.

9. Christmas Events at the Riverside Church in the City of New York

Christmas carols and a Children's Christmas Pageant are among performances scheduled for December at the Riverside Church in the City of New York.

10. West Village Chorale: Messiah Sing and Caroling Walk

The West Village Chorale hosts its annual Handel's Messiah Sing, Village Noel and Caroling Walk in mid-December.
