If you're looking for a classic, low-frills Santa visit, consider hitting Bloomindale's flagship location. While it's still a popular choice, the fact that it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Macy's does ensures a shorter wait and less chaos. Santa is located on the eighth floor of Bloomingdale's (in the children's department).

3. Breakfast with Santa at Rock Center Cafe
Have breakfast at the Rock Center Cafe, including a toy and visit with Santa and his elves, followed by an ice skating session at the Rink at Rock Center. Offered weekends from Thanksgiving until Christmas, as well as daily from December 17-24, 2011. Reservations are essential. Tickets are $47-59 for adults, $42-54 for children 3-10.
