1. Nightmare: Vampires
Want to really scare yourself this Halloween? Check out Nightmare -- a terrifying haunted house located in NoHo. Tickets for the haunted house are $30 in advance ($35 at the door) and the tour lasts about 25 minutes. There are also VIP tickets for $60 that let you cut to the front of the line. The haunted house will be open from September 25 - November 7, 2009. It's strongly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance to avoid long lines and possible disappointment.
2. Halloween at the Cemetery: Historic Fund Walking Tour
Jeff Richman leads this tour through Greenwood Cemetery and shares tales of murder, mayhem, spirits, and ghosts. 1 p.m. October 23 & November 1, 2009. This is a very popular tour, so arrive early. $20 per person, $10 for historic fund members.3. Circle Line Downtown’s Halloween Costume Party Cruise
The ZEPHYR yacht is being turned into a haunted house for a night of Halloween celebration, complete with costumes on Saturday, October 31, 2009. The ZEPHYR boards from South Street Seaport’s Pier 16 at 9:00 pm, sails at 9:30 pm, and returns dockside at midnight. 7. Crypt Crawls
Creep into the Cathedral of St. John the Divine's crypt with Cathedral Guides Tom Fedorek, Robert Bleggi and Kevin Blum. Learn the origins of Halloween as the Celtic New Year celebration and trace its later transformation into All Hallows Eve. Tours are offered hourly on Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tickets are $12 per person, $10 per student/senior.8. National Comedy Theatre's Halloween Spooktacular
