1. Boo at the Bronx Zoo
This annual Halloween celebration is held on weekends in October at the Bronx Zoo and is geared toward children and families. Halloween activities include face painting, storytelling, pumpkin painting and more. Kids in costume are admitted free with a paying adult. All activities are included with Zoo admission, except the hay ride which requires the "Total Experience" ticket or an additional charge.

2. Morning of the Gargoyles at St. John the Divine
Visit St. John the Divine on Halloween for a morning of spooky fun! The morning begins with a reading of Eve Bunting's Night of the Gargoyles, then down to the workshop to assemble gargling, grimacing clay gargoyles, skeleton creatures, and paper gargoyle masks. For further information call the Public Education & Visitor Services Department at (212) 932-7347.
When: Saturday, October 22, 2011, 10 am - 12 pm
Tickets: $8 per child, with accompanying adult
3. Queens Farm Halloween Haunted House
October 29, 30, and 31, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. you can visit the Queens County Farm Haunted House. This haunted house is appropriate for children ages 4-12. Admission is $4 and hayrides are $2. Halloween treats, mulled cider, pumpkins and apples also for sale. The Queens County Farm also has a Children's Fall Festival on Saturday, October 30 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. for just $5/person.
4. Annual CMA Trick or Treat Parade
CMA celebrates Halloween this year in their new location on Friday, October 29, 2011 with a full day of Halloween-themed events. Wear your costume to participate in the costume parade at 3 p.m.
5. Halloween Celebration at American Museum of Natural History
From 4-7 p.m. on October 31, 2011 join families for an evening of trick-or-treating, arts and crafts, costumed characters, and a special Halloween space show in the planetarium. Admission is $10 ($9 for museum members).

6. Ghouls and Gourds at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden
On Saturday, October 29, 2011 the whole family can enjoy celebrating Halloween at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. There will be a costume parade, crafts, music and many other Halloween-themed activities at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden and children under 12 are admitted free!
7. Jack-o-Lantern Storytime at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden
On Friday, October 21st, 2011 at 10:30 AM the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden's monthly storytime will have a Halloween theme, as well as a chance to see the museum’s pie-making display and a jack-o-lantern ball & cup craft. For children 6 and under. Free with museum admission.
