This Union Square area costume shop is open year round and is probably New York City's largest costume shop. If you can visit during the day at least a week or so before Halloween, you'll get good service, but it's a very popular spot and can be quite crowded during peak shopping times as Halloween approaches.

2. Abracadabra Superstore

The Abracadabra Superstore has a wide variety of Halloween costumes to purchase or to rent, as well as an extensive collection of theatrical makeup, props and gags.

3. Ricky's

Ricky's has a year-round costume shop located in the Financial District, but during the Halloween season, all of their locations carry a huge assortment of costumes. They also have "Halloween Popup Shops" that open just for the Halloween season. Year round, Ricky's is a hip beauty-shop, with a huge assortment of cosmetics, accessories and beauty products.

4. Mascarade Costumes in Times Square from Halloween Adventure

Located in Times Square, this New York City costume shop is open year-round. Due to its proximity to Broadway theaters, they offer lots of theatrical makeup and props in addition to the usual costume shop finds.
