Guide Review - Night+Day New York
Night+Day New York is a guidebook with the discerning tourist in mind -- focused on catering to visitors who are looking to experience the style, celebrities and places popular with "in-the-know" locals, Night+Day New York delivers a lot of information in a small, slick package.

Night+Day New York breaks down its listings into four categories: "Hot" is for exclusive, hip choices; "Cool" is for more comfortable, but still stylish offerings; "Original" is for unique to New York places; and "Classic" covers more traditional New York City spots.

"The 99 Best" highlights three top offerings in each of 33 popular categories from restaurants and clubs to theaters and tours. Each listing includes basic contact information, as well as "hot tips" for making the most of the place, by avoiding crowds, getting a good table, etc.

The Night+Day New York sections for each of the four categories include 3 night/day itineraries, as well as more extensive listings for restaurants, bars, shopping, hotels and nightlife in each category.

For visitors looking to venture away from New York City, a small selection of trips from New York City, including Atlantic City, Jones Beach, Fire Island, and the Hamptons.

Night+Day New York doesn't fail to include the essential information necessary either. Calendars of annual events, weather information, and transport information sections are all helpful, even if they contain a few small errors. Despite what Night+Day New York says there are no neighborhood parking permits, there is no sales tax on clothing/shoes under $110, and the buses only take MetroCards or coins to pay the $2 fare.
