Astor Place Cube

Tony Rosenthal created the steel structure "The Alamo" in 1967

"The Alamo" is located on the Astor Place Traffic Island at the intersection of Lafayette Street and 8th Street. The 15 foot sculpture can be rotated on its tip. It was the first permanent contemporary outdoor sculpture installed in the City of New York.
