Looking north from the Empire State Building's 86th Floor, you can see the skyscrapers of Midtown Manhattan, Central Park and the Upper East and Upper West Sides.

The 86th Floor Observatory is the main viewing area of the Empire State Building. From the open-air observation deck, you can enjoy terrific views, and there are great picture-taking opportunities. Visitors who want to go higher can check out the 102nd Floor Observatory, though it's fully enclosed, so getting great photos is more difficult.
