Strawberry Fields

John Lennon and Yoko Ono's favorite spot in Central Park was named Strawberry Fields in 1981 after Lennon's famous song, Strawberry Fields Forever. In addition to a one million dollar donation from Yoko Ono, 121 nations donated to maintain this tear-drop shaped area, which features a reproduction of a mosaic from Pompeii with "Imagine" added to the center. The entrance to Strawberry Fields is on the West Side just south of 72nd Street, where John Lennon and Yoko Ono lived in The Dakota.
