George M. Cohan Statue in Times Square

George M. Cohan was a famous figure in the New York City theater scene just after the turn of the century. Little Johnny Jones, his first big Broadway hit introduced his songs "Give My Regards To Broadway" and "The Yankee Doodle Boy". His statue was errected in the 1960s in recognition of musical contributions to the war effort through his songs "You're a Grand Old Flag" and "Over There."
