Lower East Side: Birthplace of Dreams

The leading Socialist paper, The Daily Forward was founded in 1895. This Yiddish paper was known for supporting social reform, as well as instructing new Jewish immigrants on American Life. The newspaper has since relocated to midtown, where it continues to publish in Yiddish, Russian and English. The building is slated to be converted into condominiums.
