About Circle Line's Beast Speed Boat

If you don't mind getting wet, love a thrill ride and want to get a close-up view of the Statue of Liberty, the Beast Speed Boat is loads of fun. In just 30 minutes the boat travels to and from the Statue of Liberty offering views of Manhattan's West Side.

The tour guides are playful and entertaining -- and come armed with water balloons and water guns to make sure you get soaked. Attraction-wise, the highlight of the trip is a closeup view of the Statue of Liberty. It's a perfect chance for picture taking and kids love the chance to speed by Manhattan.

This ride is definitely for the thrill-seeker -- and not for those scared of getting a little wet. Assuming your kids aren't easily scared (and are at least 40" tall) this is a terrific ride for families who want to see the Statue of Liberty.

Helpful Tips for Circle Line's Beast Speed Boat

  • You must be at least 40" tall to ride The Beast.
  • You will almost definitely get wet on The Beast. You may get very wet.
  • They begin boarding the boat about 15 minutes before departure -- you'll want to arrive in time to buy your tickets (which could take 15 minutes, especially on weekends and school breaks) to be near the front of the line.
  • Wear sunscreen if you're sensitive to the sun -- there's no cover on the boat and despite the breeze, you can get quite a bit of sun.
  • Folks seated near the front of the boat stay the driest -- though no one can avoid the water guns.
  • You can book tickets online, however there is a ticketing fee $5 for one ticket, $8.50 for 2, etc. You also will need to exchange the ticket voucher for a boarding pass in the ticketing line once you arrive, so there's really no advantage to buying your tickets online unless you're concerned you won't arrive at the dock before they sell out of tickets.
