Emeril Live TV Show Taping

Getting Tickets to Emeril Live!
  • Many months after requesting tickets on the FoodNetwork Website (according to directions for getting Emeril Live! Tickets) I received a phone call from Emeril's staff to let me know I had won tickets to a performance in about 6 weeks. The ticket was good for up to 4 people.
  • I received the ticket in the mail about 2 weeks before the show.

Checking In for Emeril Live!

  • Emeril Live! tapes at Chelsea Market.
    • Address: between 15th & 16th Streets and 9th and 10th Avenues. Entrances on both 9th and 10th Avenues.
    • Closest Subway: A/C/E at 14th Street/8th Avenue
    • Nearby Parking: on 10th Avenue, between 18th & 19th, there is a reasonably priced, outdoor lot ($16 as of 3/07)
    • Chelsea Market has lots of gourmet food vendors and shopping opportunities.
  • Taping was at 4 p.m., but we were asked to arrive about 2 hours before show.
  • No one was lined up at 1:20 p.m., but about 30 minutes later nearly 50 people were in line ahead of us.
  • Once you have checked in and received your number, you can explore Chelsea Market until 2:40 before clearing security.
  • I would recommend arriving a little early (maybe 1:40 or so), check in, and then walk around Chelsea Market and shop or get lunch.
  • All attendees must pass through a metal detector and have their bags searched.
  • Cameras and cell phones with cameras were kept at security, where we picked them up after the taping. They were also willing to keep my Dad's pocket knife, which he wasn't allowed to bring into Emeril Live!
  • Once you clear security, there are snacks, restrooms and bottled water available in the waiting area.
  • Bottled water is the only beverage allowed in the studio.
  • Attendees were asked to remove hats during the taping and not to chew gum.
  • Audience members were brought up to the studio in groups of about 20 to be seated.

The Emeril Live! Taping

  • The earlier you check in, the more likely you are to get "prime" seating.
  • Emeril Live! staff identify guests as they enter the studio for seats at the tables near the front (though many of these seats go to VIP guests).
  • Few guests will get food during the show. Food is primarily given to those seated at the tables in the front of the set, and occassionally people seated in the front row of the main seating area.
  • We were seated in the bleacher area, and had a good view of the taping, but the only food we received during the taping was bags of Zappos Potato Chips.
  • On the day of the taping that we attended, there were guest chefs there, and so we all got a copy of their new cookbook.
  • You will clap and hollar a lot during the taping -- bring a bottle of water from the waiting area to keep yourself from getting parched.
  • Kids throughout the audience will have the chance to go up on the set with Emeril to get an ice cream from the freezer during one of the breaks.
  • Taping begins at 4 p.m. and lasts about 1 1/2 hours.
